What Is Homeopathy & How To Use With Your Pet

This year is bringing about a lot of new adventures in my life. Most importantly I am now attending The Naturopathic Institute of Therapies and Education (NITE) in Mt. Pleasant. I started the program on the first weekend in January with Homeopathy, and I wanted to share a bit of what I learned with you!

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy was started by Dr. Hahnemann in Germany in the 1700’s, the primary philosophy being “similia similibus curentur” translating to “like cures like” This is known in homeopathy as the law of similars. Dr. Hahnemann also did provings in which healthy individuals took remedies and reported all symptoms experienced. The law of similars is applied by taking the symptoms a person or pet is showing and matching them to the symptoms a certain remedy produced.  An example would be, if you or your pet had a rash that was burning and itching, a remedy that you could use would be Urtica Urens. When taken during provings, Urtica Urnes produced rashes that were burning and itching. Taking Urtica Urnes while experiencing these symptoms will cure those symptoms; thus like cures like.

You and Your Pet's Vital Force

I also learned that a person and pet's vital force – similar to the immune system, is stimulated by using homeopathic remedies. Homeopathy treats the whole individual, body, mind, and spirit. This totality makes homeopathy a holistic therapy. Homeopathy follows Herring’s law which states that healing occurs from the inside out, from the top to bottom, and in reverse order. Herring’s law helps to show why homeopathy works, because it heals the whole individual.

I invite you to join me on my Naturopathic journey by coming to seminars which I will be teaching throughout the year, sharing and explaining what I have learned and how it can be applied to your pet for better health and wellness.   Check out our events here.
