As part of our furiends and family, we want to say thank you for supporting our small business this year! The more you buy, the more goodies you receive! Shop our in-store deals Saturday, November 26th & Sunday, November 27th, 2022 in honor of Shop Small Business Weekend, sponsored by Northwest Naturals.

We are ever so grateful for all our pet parents who have shown us love and support through our years in business. We do our best to support other small businesses every week from choosing local maintenance repair companies, catering lunch from a local independently owned restaurant for our staff members, finding holiday gift items for friends and family, supporting independent craft makers, and so much more!

It All Started With American Express

Ironically, American Express started the Shop Small/Small Business Saturday campaign in 2010 to help promote the support of local small businesses after the housing crisis and recession. I’m grateful that American Express had the forethought to see that even as a large business, small businesses also needed support as American Express had the funds to make the Shop Small campaign successful. It has definitely brought more awareness to independent shops in all of our communities across the country.

But Now Times Have Changed

As with all things. American Express has changed its approach. Over the years, the in-store support to small businesses from American Express has dwindled. We used to receive fun party packages with balloons, doormats, banners, and other giveaways that we could use with our fabulous customers. That has all gone to the wayside but this has allowed us to create our own unique shop small experience with our pet parents. Our first big decision was deciding that it should be a Small Business Weekend! One day is just not enough to honor all of our devoted customers and supporters. Next, for 2022 we have teamed up with Northwest Naturals Raw Food for some great bonus items that you don’t want to miss!

We're Teaming Up With Northwest Naturals!

Northwest Naturals offers a variety of raw food for cats and dogs. This family-owned business is a leader in raw food with conscientious manufacturing of raw diets with natural and healthy ingredients for our beloved pet friends. They have made it well known that they keep their support and loyalty with independently owned pet retail stores. It’s a great partnership for The Pet Beastro to work with Northwest Naturals Raw Food. Shop Small Roundup

Many organizations have been very supportive of the Shop Small initiative by promoting it to their members or customers to help build strong and thriving local communities.
