Are you looking to entice your picky eater? Or maybe add extra nutrition to their diet? Stella and Chewy’s is a great choice to start with your cat or dog! They focus on formulating all their raw pet food in a way that provides optimum nutrients to your furry friends. Their formulas are put together in a way that allows raw to meet all of your and your pets’ expectations. Giving them evolutionarily appropriate ingredients including humanely raised meat, organic fruits and vegetables, and quality sourced essential vitamins and minerals. Their top priority is the health of your dog or cat and believes your pet deserves “only the good stuff.”

Raw Pet Food Benefits

Stella and Chewy's offers a variety of different size dinner patties that are complete and balanced containing 90-95% meat, bone, and organ with organic fruits and vegetables and sustainably sourced vitamin packs.

Stella and Chewy’s lineup of proteins includes:

  • chicken,
  • beef,
  • duck,
  • surf & turf,
  • venison,
  • lamb and
  • rabbit.

There is definitely an option for every pup! Feeding a well balanced raw diet to your dog or cat provides six key health benefits:

  1. Increased stamina and energy.  Without having to digest the unneeded carbohydrates that are present in kibble diets, dogs and cats are able to process their food without taxing energy, therefore having more to run around and play!
  2. Healthy digestion. When meat and vegetables are under high heat levels, beneficial nutrients are cooked out of the produce. This makes it harder for your pets to receive the essential vitamins and minerals but, in raw food, all of the needed nutrients are in their organic form and are easily and naturally digestible.
  3. Vibrant skin and coat. Feeding raw has an abundance of amino acids, fatty acids, and live enzymes that are essential to a soft coat and clear skin.
  4. Healthy teeth and gums. Dogs do not have the enzyme, amylase, in their saliva to break down carbohydrates and bacteria which leads to bad breath and plaque. Both of which are present in kibble so, raw feeding helps prevent plaque buildup and bad breath.
  5. Allergy relief. Raw does not contain preservatives, carbohydrates, and other additives that are in kibbles that many pets are allergic to or reactive to. These ingredients are unable to be properly digested and cause a reaction that typically comes out through upset stomachs, itchy skin, and infections.
  6. Weight management. In raw diets, you feed less than you would normally with cooked foods such as kibble. This inherently makes your pet lose weight because it is not taking in as much to begin with. On top of feeding less, raw diets do not have carbohydrates and fillers in them as kibbles do; that would end up as waste and fat in your dog or cat's body.

Stella & Chewy’s also offers a gently cooked option for those not 100% ready to transition to raw yet. Cooked at a low temperature for a short period of time allows the aromas to pierce through to appeal to picky eaters.

The Stella & Chewy’s Pet Food Freeze Drying Process

Stella and Chewy’s take their frozen raw and put them into a freeze drier that contains three chambers. The middle chamber is called the ice bank, this is where all the moisture goes during the process of freeze-drying. Raw frozen product is then placed on trays and placed through the freeze dryer and the temperature is lowered to -60 degrees Fahrenheit. While the frozen product sits in the chamber, the trays they are on are heated to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and draw out the moisture over 24-48 hours. These competing temperatures allow the ice to vaporize which is then vacuumed out to produce a freeze-dried product that is still as raw as a frozen product. The end product is still nutritionally dense and flavorful for your pup or kitty.
