You may have noticed that we’ve been carrying some new products in the shop that contain tripe. And while this ingredient may seem suspicious (and, admittedly, a little stinky), it’s actually extremely beneficial for our pets. Here’s why:

Tripe is the stomach of grazing animals, like cows, buffalo and sheep. These stomachs are packed with healthy digestive enzymes, gastric juices and amino acids that help grazing animals digest grasses.

When feeding tripe, make sure you are feeding green tripe, not the white tripe that is common in grocery stores. White tripe has little nutritional value because it has been bleached. On the other hand, green tripe holds many nutritional benefits because it maintains all of the animal’s digestive enzymes and probiotics.

Raw green tripe holds so many benefits for our pets, including:

  • Improved digestion
  • Improved metabolism and hormonal function
  • Stronger immune system
  • Rids the body of harmful toxins, parasites and fungus

If you’re ready to get your pet started on green tripe, stop by the shop and we’ll help you pick some out!
